Electric start kits
I have the chance to buy a new NOS electric start kit, the guy told me it would fit all JDX sleds, his part number is AM52472 and the starter pn is AM52455. After I did some checking on Deere's website it listed that kit for the 300 and the 73 model JDX4 that had the 295 Kohler. I have a 74 JDX4 that calls for a different starter and kit number. Im not so concerned with the wiring and battery box as I am the mounting flange and gear on the starter. When I talked to him today he mentioned something about an adaptor plate? needless to say I have confused myself. can anyone explain to me what works on what? Id really appreciated it thanks!

Re: Electric start kits
Looks like your right, it's the Kohler starter.

To the best of my knowledge, the Kohler kit and CCW/Kioritz kits are quite different.
The battery boxes might interchange, and a few other things.
