Post by Matt »

I have a New Breed customer who is looking for new track drivers for his '72 400. If anyone has NOS or good used let me know and I'll connect you with him.

Matt,

Are these drivers used anywhere else or just to the 72 400?

According to the parts book the part number is AM52563 and they are used on the 300, 400, 600, and 800. Some X's and 295/S.

IF I remember right they have a 1" ID correct? I wonder if any of the scorpion guys had any repopped at anytime? I think that Scorp initially used a smaller ID but then switched to a 1" shaft, I think that Chip " from out east " has some repopped ones but I'm not sure what pitch ( should be the same ) or what ID the hole in the drivers are, I do know the Chap Boy's are also having trouble getting Drivers, they are the same as Deere used... IF knowone has any maybe this would be a good future repop, But I think the minimum order will be around 300, I do or used to have an IN with PPG in SD.
oh yeah Rainville I just remembered, LOL

Kenny, I don't think they break enough to require that much demand.

Well if Chip doesn't have any, then there is a market for them for JD, Chap, Scorp, & anyother brand of sled that used the Dayco or Gates tracks from the 70-?
I really haven't seen too many break Although over the years I have seen a lot of NOS ones that are cracked through the bolt or pin holes, they are normally wore out on the drive fingers..
Wouldn't the Cyclone & Liquifires using the round shafts take the same pitch driver??
The biggest thing IF the mold is still available...

Chips repops are 2.52 pitch and 1" which is what Deere and 78 other manufactures used.
I have bought several sets.

But may old sleds are found with a crack on the hub and that does not make them junk.
Put a hose clamp on it and it will last another couple of decades.

But if the teeth are worn or broken buy some new ones.

By the way you can bore them out to 1.125 if you have that size on your orphan sled.

We had this discussion when I was looking for drivers for my '72 400. Pretty much the originals are all junk, NOS or used. My originals were in great shape, but when you held them up to the light, they were cracked almost all the way across. The '72 drivers have a 1" bore, which was used only in '72 and '73. The white plastic drivers were used on all the bogie sleds till the end I believe, but from '74 on were 1 1/8" bore.

I bought some black plastic repros off ebay, that may have been repro'd for Scorps, not sure. Haven't seen any since.

Seams to me that CPC also has these.

Chip lists them on e-Bay from time to time.
