I just received the color standards, so I have not developed the color yet.

Worked on a couple of the colors today.

Emerald green is close, real close. I already tinted it just a "shade" from here, but as it dries, it will probably come in a tad closer as colors generally darken as they dry.

If I am happy with the final results, I will hopefully have this available next week.

Midnight Mist. Same thing, if I am happy when it dries, it should be available next week.

Winterfrost II I have a great color to start with. That should also be available fairly soon.

Winterfrost I, that one might be a bit tougher. We will see how the tinting goes when I get to that one.

I am very happy with the both colors and I am sure you guys will be also.

I have another NOS piece coming from Joe Rainville that is painted in the "mean green". It will be interesting to see it next to the standard.

When I get that I will see if any minor tweaking is needed on the mean green. The version that I have now is currently on the website.

The other colors may be a little bit. I have to get 5 sleds running for Live on Ski's in one month! Time flies when you are having fun!

For what it is worth, I think one of them might be green though! The ride needs a little diversity!

I received another NOS Mean Green painted part from Joe Rainville. Thank you Joe.

It is a bit different from the standard. Both the standard and the NOS parts are a bit more different from the hood.

So, I have 3 colors. I am not surprised. I am going to tweak my color just a bit though to bring it in closer to the standard and the NOS part. I don't think it will take much.

Are there 3 different blitz blacks? I purchased a can a bit ago and it was FLAT. absolutely no gloss.

What gloss level do you generally use?

No, not 3 different, but they seem to call the color different names depending on who the paint manufacturer is (when using other then JD paint). I didn't think it was completely flat though.

Ok, after a time of being sidetracked on this project, I am back at it. My R & D time has been spent on some other items, one is plastic casting and Matt and I are working on a JD item, so stay tuned.

I have had a lot of interest in the Winterfrost colors in the last couple of weeks so I figured, I'd break out the rusty paint gun.

I don't have pictures, but I am at "beta" stage for Winterfrost and Winterfrost II. Winterfrost I was a challenge though.

I am going to let them dry, evaluate the color a bit, tweak if necessary.

I then will do some color samples in basecoat clearcoat for a photo shoot. Probably expect some pictures here in a week or two.

I am going to list the colors on the website as beta for now until we get some feedback from real users.

I am happy with my results. It will be interesting to see if the production colors match the standards.

This pretty much completes the JD colors to my knowledge other than the Blitz Black. I have different gloss levels of black available, just not sure what level Blitz black should be. The sample that I purchased was FLAT. I don't remember them being that flat.

Ok now that they have dried,
Winterfrost II looks great. I will do some sprayouts soon.

Winterfrost I needs a minor tweak. Very minor. Shouldn't take much to bring it in to where we need it.

Blitz Black...IMHO, it is not flat, it is not semi gloss, its more of a satin. Krylon used to sell cans called "half flat" that I liked the look of.

Blitz Black is still available from Deere, I have used a few cans where I wanted authenticity. Not all the black on the sleds was Blitz. The skis for example; we have noticed that the vendor used more of a semi gloss on those.
