I would advise not using a pipe to hold the clutch still when tightening the puller.

You can break a tower that way.

Best to use an impact wrench and then you can hold it with you hand.

In the flywheel video he took off the fan blade.

Don't ask me why......

Did you notice all the bolts were already loose?
Just like those car shows on Saturday afternoon where they take a bumper off a 71 camaro in 30 seconds.

Yeah right!

Just my opinion but............that is not really correct. Again there is a gap between the fingers and the flywheel. That is when the 6mm bolts and threads get destroyed. The torque is being transferred to the loose threads and not the taper. Use the right tools the right way and the job will be done properly, safely and without damaging any parts. Every time!

Another thing. Never fully remove the flywheel nut. Back it off just enough to let the flywheel pop.

WOW, I didn't think taking off a flywheel could be so hard? & take so many posts..
This is a good example of why " if your going to be working on your sled you should have the proper Service Manual "
By the way this wasn't ment to offend anyone, just to make a point..

Good point Peter.

I have seen clutches and flywheels explode off the shafts.

Sometimes extremely loud and bounce off the bellypan.

This will bring mutterings of, 'I told you so!' Deserved I admit.

Diesel pump puller didn't have holes that lined up . . . soooo:

Took all of 5 mins from opening the parcel from Rec Supply.

Don't cheat, buy/borrow/etc the right tool.

Or else you'll get Peter telling you you're a buffoon, and he'll be right!

Amazing how much time and money one can save using the right equipment the first time. I know I've tried the "make work" tools before and often end up making a bigger mess than the one I was originally trying to fix. Congrats on your new found wisdom and thanks for taking the time to post pics.
