Suspension springs

Post by SIIaCanuck »

Is there detail on spring rates anywhere? I'm interested in finding out what the specs are on:

M68716/68716 - Liquifire stock rear swingarm springs
M67948/67949 - Liquifire stock front swingarm springs
M68464/68465 - Liquifire 'deep snow' rear swingarm springs

I understand the Kimpex reproduction springs have been discontinued so new springs are difficult to find so I was curious to find out how much it would cost to have a spring chop bend up and heat treat a few.

Wouldn't be too hard to build a bending jig, you'd just need to find a shop that could heat-treat the steel afterward.

So far I've managed to get a pair of NOS front springs, and two pair of rear springs, three of which are NOS and one is Kimpex.

These are the stock springs and I don't know what the deep snow kit springs are like in comparison. I'd imagine that they're stiffer as they're for a longer swingarm. Less coil, more preload?

Anyone have a photograph of the deep snow kit springs?
