The skid that came with my Z was a SC10 long travel I think. I decided to look for one that was a little more detuned so to speak and
came up with this older C7? Hope it works …………..

First off id just like to say you do some great work. Also I was wondering why you drilled holes into the hood? For air flow?

Neat project Joe. You have a very innovative mind. I do know what the hood holes are for, but what about the 2x4? I missed that. Any other plans to guard the carb bowls?

He said earlier that the holes were to check for clearances when making the exhaust. It's not the hood he is using on the sled.

Thanks for the compliments .....
Yes the holes are for seeing under the hood while the hood is on. The hood has a large crack in it where the 2x4 is screwed to it so it keeps its proper shape.
I have some pictures of another one of the big problems I found almost right away when the motor mount was finalized. Head light..........
I knew it would crash into head of the motor being that it is tilted so far forward. And boy did it ever! I needed to loose about 4 inches on its total
length it stuck out from the grille. ...........

Yes the bowls are protected and were covered up in the final welding of the project. Also all unneeded holes were plugged.
The areas of the frame I cut away got reinforced at the end so I would know just were the bent DOM tube would have to be in order to not interfere
with the pipe etc .........

Just wondering .... when you guys click on the pictures do they get larger on your end?

Thanks .. Just making sure you guys are seeing what I am seeing.
Here is the next installment Pat.......

The stock headlight had to go. I found a LED headlight used on Military Vehicles with a High/Low beam that shortens the witdth
about 3 inches. Here is shot of it the first time I put it in and have made changes after this. The pictures have been taken through an inspection hole in the hood. That hood saved me on a lot of things so far and was well worth carving it up. If that headlight looks like it is too close to the head, that's because it is  .......... I literally have no idea if this will all work out in the end. Might end up as a trailer Queen

The Doo harness turned out to be too much trouble to modify. The Doo hood opened and took all the wires up with it.
In the Deere I needed most of the wires under the dash and as you know the only thing that goes up with the hood is the
Headlight wire.

This is the Doo harness

When I had the sled mostly together I designed a harness by tying a bunch of thin ropes together while in the sled to mimic
how the harness would lay.

I then had a harness built and braided for protection.
