trailfire help

Post by deere boy »

I have recently got a trailfire and I just rebuilt the carb. However there wasn't any fuel lines still on it, so im not sure how to connect my new lines. Pictures would be helpful and any comments. Thanks

Starting inside the tank....

Fuel pick-up filter screen with check valve to
Fuel line to tank bung or bulkhead fitting.
Fuel line from tank to external inline fuel filter (Watch for in/out arrows on filter)
Fuel line from filter to "IN" arrow on fuel pump
Fuel line from "OUT" arrow on pump to carb
Fuel line from crankcase impulse fitting(barb) to unmarked(pulse) fitting on pump

Use quality line made for gas/oil mix like Tygon. Use clear or translucent line to aid in viewing flows.

If you Trailfire has the correct original carb there is only one fitting on it and this is fuel in.

Those are just overflow vents. Also, that isn't a Trailfire carb. It's a Powerjet carb like on the Liquifires and Sportfires.

I would advise use of the correct carb with the correct jetting.

You might be able to get this dialed in for a Trailfire but it would take a lot of trial and error.

Alright. I've arised to a new problem with this powerjet carb on my trailfire. And I've gotten a rebuild kit from new breed parts and cleaned it all. Everything is clear. Today I finally got time to wrk on the trailfire and when I got it all together I want getting fuel so I primed it by unattaching the line from the tank and dumping gas in it till the lines and bowl was all full. It still wouldn't start however. I noticed that none of the gas was draining out of the lines. Long story short. It runs when shots of gas in the cylinders or by spraying gas into the carb, but it won't pick it up out of the bowl it seems....any ideas?

The floats may be stuck closed or upside down.

They wrked fine. I split it after I figured out it was the carb causing the issue. So I took the bowl of and the floats moved up and down with the gas as I tilted it...I donno I'm not completely new to carbs as I wrk alot with old farm tractors but this one has me stumped...the needle was free too
