Re: "The Last Liquifire"
I am very fortunate to have bought this sled from Greg last week. I am currently cleaning it and can not believe what good condition it is in.
I absolutely believe that the miles are correct. I will be keeping it all in original condition if possible and replace parts that are not JD.
The seat weighed about 60lbs ... must have been under water and froze in the recent past????
The sled now rests in my shop about 3 miles from where it was originally built I'll post pictures when it is ready.

Darn it Joe! I was just going to offer Greg a bazillion dollars and my first born for that sled! All kidding aside, congratulations on getting the last LF, I know you were patiently waiting for it to come up for sale. I am looking forward to hearing more of it's history.

Re: "The Last Liquifire"
The history will be interesting if I can track it all down. From what I see ...... my guess is that someone was very proud of it and took care of it most of its
life. They cared to spend some money on that custom seat and did not beat it and kept the miles low. Then it was sold to someone who kept it outside uncovered and put wrong skis on it, wrong windshield screwed to hood, screen for side vent etc ........ Last night I pulled off the y pipe and looked at the pistons.
Left side piston is completely knurled from top to bottom. I never saw one like that? Any of you guys?

Re: "The Last Liquifire"
Great find guys!
Good that Joe is going to give a good home and I am sure he will give us a chance to see it on display in the future. Interesting to hear of the story about this sled too.
So my next thoughts are, what is the model and serial number of the very last "sled" off the line in Horicon. And is the first Liquifire off the line known and out there in a collection?
I kinda remember a thread about the last Liquifire and last sled awhile back. I have a great memory, just short!

Re: "The Last Liquifire"
I believe the Snowfire was the last model off the line in November of '83, #285,276.
