"The Last Spitfire" COMPLETED

Post by fastl82vette »

These things keep falling into my lap!!!

So I was out in the garage cleaning up the '82 Spitfire that I picked up last weekend. I took a look at the serial number and decided to look up where it sat in the number range. Well, it's being confirmed right now. But it appears to be the last spitfire ever built.

I think I need to go buy a lotto ticket!! :beers; :beers; :beers; :letitsnow:

Ps this one is staying with me. Other than a very small amount of damage on the left side of the hood and rusty skis and shocks, this thing is beautiful!!!!

Simply amazing. What are the odds that you'll find the last Sportfire?

The only major damage on the whole thing, besides the windshield that I didn't take off on the trip home. :bonk: it actually held up pretty good for driving 70 into a 30 mph wind.

:lol22: no I just use that to move the sleds around my farm. The fastest it goes on that is about 3 mph. It works pretty good actually. I just need to make the deck a little bigger.

Me and my side kick started tear down today. So far the parts list is seat, windshield and tail light housing. It will be a little while before I can spend any money on it due to 2 car repairs and our well pump going out last week :bonk: but I would like to keep as much NOS as possible if anyone has these parts nos please let me know. A little shelf wear is ok. :beers;

Did a little more... There is a pretty good dent in the pan right where the pan is riveted to the tunnel that I will need to hammer out, and a couple on the sides where the back of the skis came up and hit. Other than that its pretty straight!!
