Vintage Ovals

Post by hechter121 »

Hello All,

I would like to start racing vintage ovals since I am now married and have a newborn and can't afford to keep racing snocross anymore. Just looking for a few suggestions on a class and if anyone knows of a series in southern Wisconsin. I would like to race a JD sled but open to suggestions.

If I were to be on the road your are facing I would look into the rules for the curcuit you are thinking of running in and make a decision based on the rules, classes and what the other competitors are running to steer you to a make and model that would be competitve.
In MN there are several curcuits and the rules are very different. Some allow cleated tracks, some don't.
Some have a 300 cc limit, others 440, some none.
What you can build depends on what you can run. JD models can be competitve in some classes so if you wish to be green you maybe able to see the checkered flag at times.

Just remember to have fun be safe in whatever you end up doing.
