78 Liquifire seat ????

Post by ljm »

Is it my imagination or do the 78's have a higher hump at the back of the seat than the 76-77 seats?

Do the Ebay seat covers fit a 78 seat?

Thanks

The 78 Liquifire seat is different from the 76/77 Liquifires. The seat is similar to the later Liquifires as it is a single seat. It is also thicker than the other seats. Here is a picture of a 76 Liquifire next to a 78.

The "78" seat cover I bought on eBay fits the '77 seat, eh, but it doesn't come close to fitting a '78. Keep searching. I haven't found one yet.

P.S. I found the '80's cover was close and with a little foam added it could work. In a parts lot I bought, was a '78 foam that someone cut to fit a '77 cover. The results were a disaster.

I just got a reply from Earnest Atwood regarding a '78 Liquifire seat cover. He says he stocks them, $175.00 including shipping. He can be reached at atwoodparts@msm.com. He has a website and is out of Maine.
I guess I won't know if it fits until I get one, eh?

Thanks Mark

Did he give you an indication of how long it would take?
