440 Liquidator
Put a couple items on eBay and mentioned a 440 Liquidator. Getting all sorts of emails from Folks wanting to educate me on the thought that there never was a 440 Liquidator and I am wrong on my listing. They are telling me i must be thinking about a 440 Liquifire. Guess I should of expected this right?. Look at the numbers of the coil cover. That is proof the motors existed.
I just need to sell off a few projects and parts that I will just never get to and that somebody else will understand and appreciate.
Kind of cleaning things up a little bit.
Also getting emails about selling complete sleds....Not at this time.
Thanks for the interest

Well at least you know how to spell Liquifire. I get tired of seeing "Liquidfire" . Plus, you got nothing I want. That's called reverse psychology. Call me first.

I'm in love with the 440 coil cover and it does convince me!

Yes ,that cover is sexy. I never seen or heard of anything that was factory that had these markings on them. Would look great in a display cabinet but better on the correct motor. Proof these motors existed. Just wished that tunnel was stamped.

Re: 440 Liquidator
I tried to track down the 440 Liquidator recoil that was sold with a Liquidator out of MI. Turns out the seller and I see things differently. That recoil and Chucks coil cover are two important pieces of history to verify that two Liquidator 440 motors were built, in addition to two known sets of heads and jugs.
Mr. Mosher, is there any storage available for any out of state purchasers?

Yes, I have been collecting Deere sleds for about 20 years now and I am amazed at how little I know about Deere. Totally lost on 80,s sleds and confused about the 70,s stuff. That's why Guys from this site are a good resource. If somebody could put together a complete Liquidator 440 it would be priceless.

Re: 440 Liquidator
The Liquidator 440 prototypes do in fact exist, despite what the internet experts tell Mr. Moser. For anyone that has not seen one, here is the top end:
In the past 10 years or so, I only know of two top ends surfacing. One of the Deere test riders thought he remembered seeing two Liquidator 440 motor crates arrive at Deere, but there may, or may not have been more. Chuck has the only coil cover I have ever seen, and there is a tagged 440 recoil on a Liquidator that was sold out of central MI a few years back.
Chucks unstamped chassis is the closest any of us has seen to a complete 440 Liquidator sled. I have yet to find any pistons or any written records of the motors or how they were used.

Re: 440 Liquidator
So do we know if they used the 340rs bottom end and 440 top end? There is no talk of the bottom just top. I am also wondering why this chassis isn't going crazy with bids?
