I'm connecting said tach to this cyclone, connecting to proper color wiring according to wiring diagram. I'm getting readings of 50 k rpm instead of about the 2K I should be getting at idle.
any ideas??
thx!!!

Re: 81 TF tach on 76 Cyclone with a 340/5 engine
The tachs used on the Kawis do not work correctly with the Prestolites used on the Kioritz engines.
The Kawis used a shoe type generating coil, while the Prestolite uses a muti-pole stator.
If your 340/5 has points ignition, it should work.
