Tskinz replacement seat covers
Hi, any reviews on Tskinz seat covers? I need to recover my 80 Liquifire seat.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
I've never bought one, but I had a sled with a cover from eBay and a few buddies have gotten them.
They do not fit the taillight well and the seams do not look good. They are in the wrong places.
Why not bring it to a local shop so they can fit it to your seat or send it to Johns?

Many new and used parts available, I ship anywhere. Thanks everyone.

I have now bought and installed two covers from Tskinz, the fit and quality is very good.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
I bought one for my 600. It was little short. The front seam could have been about an inch or so further ahead. I got it on, but I am not completely happy with it. Price was right though.
Old sleds are hours of entertainment.... then you get to ride them for a little bit.
Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
They make a nice Cat cover and Yamaha's for that matter.
Never bought a Deere cover from them though.

I have 3 or 4 of them. They are decent, not perfect but decent. Perfectly good for a rider.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
Tskinz has to be better than John's. No luck there ever. I take my whole sled to the local guy with great results. That way if there is something wrong with the foam he can compensate for it. Great results. More expensive but great quality. I'll never buy a cover online or send a seat out again.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
I've had John do 4-5 seats and been happy with them all. And I would say that whether he was a site sponsor or not.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
I had a seat with chunks of foam missing that I sent to John and the repair and cover looks great.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
John reupholstered a NOS 80 Liquifire seat when all I told him was to see if he could get the cover off and get rid of the 3" diameter hard spot. How many chances do you get to own a NOS 80's Liquifire seat? He was suppose to make a 78 Liquifire seat for me when he had a 78 Liquifire at his shop. I had sent a 80 foam. The 78 Liquifire he had was long gone and John asked me for measurements. I knowing the 78 was no longer there I asked why he needed measurements. There was no answer. I made accurate measurements for him and all I got back was a reupholstered 80 seat. The seat was too short, too tall, crooked, and even the tail light area was a 80. The tee nut holes were even in the wrong place and not even close to what I told him. I also got to pay for shipping when it wasn't my fault. So if you think I'm a little sore read the reasons I am and think about it. I am not the only one who has had their fair amount of problems and I know that for a fact.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
I won't send any of my seats to nobody but Johns. He has done all mine and has done great work and is easy to deal with. When I needed something different and special, I was able to bring sled in. Johns the best.

It's unfortunate that you and others have had bad experiences with John.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
I think John puts out a nicer cover than the ones from eBay. For the money I'd send it to him.
I had one seat John recovered that the board was too short and didn't catch the front clips, he said it was exact to OEM... So I sent it back, he needed to make it longer. He took care of the extra shipping, had it all fixed and was back in my hands in less than a week. No charge.
I know of another member that his board was too short. These are on the full board seats for a late liquifire, sportfire.
I was happy with his price and how he took care of me, but why is his pattern wrong? It wasn't just me that had this trouble.
I still send my seats to John, but I have to guide him every time with how long I want the board, where to add foam, ect.
No offense to John but I just had some trouble with the OEM board.
I also had him send me a board because I had a seat with a good cover but the T nuts were bad. Board was a 1/4" from even touching the front clips. Had to throw that board away and again he needed to send me a longer one. I have since made my own patten and it's been working great.
I know it's very hard to get a seat to fit perfect without the sled being there. But I just can't figure out why he didn't have the board right.
This does not hold me back from sending him my seats, i just be careful and take pictures of it on the sled so he knows where it shrunk or needs work. Again very happy with how he treated me and his prices.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
I have had two seat done by John's and was very happy with the results.
I have had dozens made by a local shop also and he too does stand up work.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
I'm really lucky to have such a great local upholsterer. Unless I'm sure the foam has not shrunk he sets me up with a appointment and I bring the whole sled in. If you live anywhere close to Eau Claire, WI I recommend giving Mac's Upholstery a try. He also does my John Deere seats with only one stitch on the top of the hump in the rear. Lee and Ted say they have no idea why there are two stitches there.
