Tskinz replacement seat covers
Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
This is a tskinz replacement cover, like smitfire said they not perfect around the taillight and some of the seams but for the most part not too bad.

I have had dozens made by a local shop also and he too does stand up work.
Stand up work, for a seat??? Sorry, I could not resist.

duane , just wanting to check in and see how you "really" feel about johns seats ? lol wade69camaro wrote:I'm really lucky to have such a great local upholsterer. Unless I'm sure the foam has not shrunk he sets me up with a appointment and I bring the whole sled in. If you live anywhere close to Eau Claire, WI I recommend giving Mac's Upholstery a try. He also does my John Deere seats with only one stitch on the top of the hump in the rear. Lee and Ted say they have no idea why there are two stitches there.

Thanks for all the info. This is a rider so I didn't want to spend a lot of $$ on the cover.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
Hi all. I just got. My seats back from a guy here in michigan, and I think it is the best job I have seen on a seat period. He replaced the board, fixed the foam, and recovered it for 150$. It looks so good, I felt bad, wen I went for a spin around the yard after putting it on. This thing fits perfect!!!!! The stitching is flawless, and the seams are sooooo perfect. I will post his info and a few pictures tomorrow. Later lincoln

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
All my sleds have a seat by John on them.
74 X8- complete recover.
72 400- complete recover.
78 LF- complete recover.
74 green machine- straight seat, cover by John, I installed it.
78 Spitfire- complete recover.
75 340/S- had some issues with this one. First seat and tank covers were too big, the next year I talked with John about them, and he stitched me up a new set, left them un-hemmed, and I had a local guy hem them and install the snaps. These are tough if you don't have the sled to fit the seat to, as the foam has shrunk over the years. John treated me right, and it all worked out to my satisfaction.
And it looks like I have at least one more 00/JDX seat to send him.

Re: Tskinz replacement seat covers
I remember that seat cover at the Horicon get together put together by Horicon Joe. That looked like a extra large on a size small. Shrinkage of the foam? My local guy did my 340/s seat. A little pricey but he had to make a complete foam and cover for the gas tank. My foam was shrunk and in bad shape. When I ever get the 340/s done eventually he will install the snaps for a perfect fit. At $400 it seems like a lot but it will be show quality and be a perfect fit with correct size. They had a lot of work to do on the foam and basically had to go from scratch on the tank cover. A special thanks to Chuck (I-500) for lending his 340/s so they had a base to go off from to get it right. I'm not sure if I like that stitch that goes vertically on the 80's sport seat from Tskinz seat covers. John's look better than that except for the double stitch on the top of the hump. My guys have no idea what that's for.
