1980 liquifire oil line bleeding

Post by 044984 »

tried bleeding oil line as the manual instructs. the air bubble still there because the oil would not flow through pump with bleed plug out and wide open on pump. is there a secret to get air bubble out?

You can lift the container a little bit to have more gravity or if you have big lungs and don't mind oil on your lips you can blow air into the screw cap cover. but the oil should be able to free flow as it sits....

Are you talking about the line before or after the pump? To get air out before the pump, remove the bleed plug and apply a SMALL amount of air pressure from an air compressor to the vent on the cap of the oil reservoir. This should get all the air out of that line. The lines after the pump bleed out by putting the plug back in, putting a 50:1 mix in the fuel tank, and run the engine with the lever on the oil pump held all the way out. I would only put a couple of gallons of premix in an empty tank to do this. Once done, top the tank off with regular non-mixed fuel, and you should be good to go.

With engine off, remove the bleeder plug. The oil should come out. If it does not, you may have a clogged filter.
