74 lynx Single

Post by T-Bone »

Long time but finally getting back into things. I have an issue with a lynx 295 single, walbro carb. Starts a little rough but once warm runs great for about 30 minutes and then starts to bog out. Engine will die but it will restart and run strong again for awhile but bog sooner. I'm at a loss on this one. If it wouldn't start warm after it bogs I'd have some ideas but since it fires right back up and runs strong again I just don't know....

What does the plug look like?

Gas cap vent open?

Do you think it is temp related?
Fuel delivery issue ?

Man, I don't know Todd. I would think if it was heat related it would have to cool down before it would refire and it doesn't need too. Plug looks good but maybe I'll plunk a new one in and see what happens. I just rebuilt/cleaned the carb, new lines new filters. I'm at a loss, maybe a complete rebuild is in order but I'd like to finish the season. Still a great sled for the kids to run around the yard but no long distance runs will be made till I figure it out. Plus I don't know if it is causing additional damage to run it this way.
