Spark Plugs....

Post by afponiky »

Ok, what do all of you think the best spark plug would be for a JDX4 and a 600 that has a KEC 340/5 in it?

I'll tell you what I pulled out of them, it doesn't seem correct that is why I'm asking....

JDX4 had NGK B8ES

the 600 with the 340/5 had Champion RN-3 (which the parts dealers couldn't find)

I was think of putting in the B8ES in the JDX4

and NGK BR9ES in the 600.

any thoughts?

Oh yea, what torque should they be?

Gary,
From what I figured out, the normal spark plug would be Champion N2 or NGK B9ES. The R in either plug means resistor and unless you are using a wireless headset you don't need it. Just watch the color of the plug after a run at WOT and then shut down the engine. It should be card-board color. The newer champion plugs such as RN2C is availalble, the C means the electrode is made of copper.

not a bright parts dealer then.. n2c rn2c or n3c rn3c. there is always an ongoing disagreement on which is better champion or ngk.. try both and use the ones you like.

I have so much to learn, I just wish I had some snow to run these to see what works best. Being so new into this is a real disadvantage. I've got years of work with all of the sleds I have so I will be learning as time goes on.....

I just feel lucky to find what I have so far and I can only do one at a time.

I know I'll be bugging you Jacilynn to the point that you might even get sick of me!

Hope not.....
