1975? JDX8 Running Project

Post by 1975JDX8 »

Hi JDsleds.com,
I have a 1975 or 1974 (Don't know which) JDX8 Snowmobile. I need a couple of parts for it and some advice on how much it is worth. I am based out of Armstrong, BC so if any of you guys have parts that you would ship that I need, That would be much appreciated.Image

Information:
-New Arctic-Cat belt.
-Everything else totally original
-Hacked wiring (no switch to turn it on - always on)
-seat's totaled (see pictures)
-runs quite well but needs cleaning (i have been running it around the farm for 2 yrs so far but I am ready to think about restoration)
-rings and seals done 2 yrs ago.
-needs new spark plugs for sure.
-needs the flexible exhaust manifold-pipe (broken)

I am new to this forum so I will give links to the pictures instead of an image in the forum. Note: This is a post to some friends on Google+ so don't mind the album description!

Definitely not a 75', so looks to be a 74'. You can tell by the VIN tag on the tunnel... if your first set of letters/digits end in "C", it's a 74'. It appears it is mostly in tact and complete. You say it's running, so everthing must be there. I think it would be a great Resto project for you. All parts you will be able to find, or a reproduction (seat for example). Use this site and links (tech talk) to find what you are looking for.

Ok, so how much do you think it would be worth if it was fully restored?

if you repaint the tunnel and the hood and redo the seat, you'll have more money into it than what it's worth. But it will look great and it's a hobby, so that's OK! Most hobby's cost money. I have two of those and they're a great sled!
