wanted spitfire parts

Post by cjhi »

so went and got my 1980 spitfire running well. took it out for a decent ride today. 5 hours or so. buddy of mine was impressed asked to take it for a little rip. so i let him. he got a little to eager :sled: took a jump pinning the throttle....(apparently he thought the spitfire could do the same as his new nytro...) sled landed vertical and the rear skid wheels exploded. all in all though was a good ride. anyways...

yup need some rear skid wheels if anyone has them. not sure if thats the right name for them but they are the plastic wheels that are on the track tensioner at the back of the track.

also interested in finding a carb and tail light/housing for this machine.

1980 spitfire 340 with a Kawasaki motor. let me know what you have please with prices.

I have a bunch of 79 spitfire parts maybe some 80's also nothing newer in MN & will be there tomorrow. But as far as rear wheels go I'd suggest looking to see if Matt has new ones in the store here on the site, or there are other places such as Wahl Racing ( wahlracing.com ), or ebay to get them, all you need is the OD of the wheel & the ID of the bearing.. the thing with buying old used wheels is that your looking at 35 year old bearings, rubber & plastic..

Hey Grumpy. thanks for the thoughts definitely a good idea but the issue i will have then is i have no way to measure the outside diameter. i mean it when i say the wheels exploded. both of them ended up in probably 20 different pieces scattered around in the snow and i didnt collect them. i grabbed one piece so i could determine the thickness of them (was told thats important as well) i can measure the inside diameter for the bearing easily by measuring the shaft.

if you or someone else happens to know the size i need then that would be perfect. sadly there just isnt enough left for me to measure the OD of the wheels
