LF - Someone to share ride/room at RWC 2015

Post by TOYMECH »

Hello,

I know this is pretty much last minute, but thought i would try and throw this out there anyhow - (You don't know till you ask, right?).
Myself and a friend had planned to go to the HOF ride, however he fell short of funds so that cancelled the trip. I am still wishing to attend but making the drive by myself is out of the question.
Hence, i am wondering if there is anyone out there who is looking for someone to split the drive and room. I will obviously share my portion of the expenses as well as driving. I drive heavy truck as well as truck/trailer for a living so i am an experienced driver and will share driving chores.
I'm in Southern Ontario and could meet in NY,PA,OH or MI.
Thanks in advance!

Rumor has that one of the inspirations of the Vintage Challenge, "The International Trailfire Terrorist" is going to make a showing at the RWC.

How did this hoodlum help inspire the event? Well back in 2008 Sidekick Nick, Tim Kudla and I took our late model Cats on an afterdark ride to Eagle RIver and back to St. Germain. We also had a Trailfire in attendance. On the freshly groomed trails, the Trailfire kept up with our moderate pace the entire evening.

Greg's ability to keep up with us stuck in my mind when JRC challenged us to take vintage iron up to Fishtails for lunch and back, following the original "Ride with the Champs" route that the modern sleds take on the "long ride" north.

As for the ITT name, well this same group of riders ran a stop sign on RT-70, returning to the hotel after the induction dinner that year. Only Sidekick Nick wasn't ticketed as he 'stopped the most', but Greg was the only Canadian present at the time :canadasmile:

See you there Greg!

So was the dinner at the Whitetail Inn and the Hotel you referred to the Whitetail lodge? That's a pretty short distance to get busted. I'm only remembering one stop between the two.

As I recall, they were staying at a motel a bit further down the road that year. It was bitterly cold with a stiff wind, and it's hard to believe the fish cops were out at all.

Nick,

We were staying at the Rustic Manor on the other side of St. Germain that year. We were within sight of the Hotel, and we got pulled over when it was 25 below zero. Aside from the stupid ticket, I also got frost bite on my thumbs and face from standing outside for 45 minutes while DNR officer handy took his time running background on us criminals. Pretty sure they were looking for the International Trailfire Terrorist, but we wouldn't give him up and his cover held :lol22:

Kudos to Nick for "kinda" stopping! :beers;

As I remember it, Don and I had rolled through every stop sign we came to all weekend long. :whistle:
