I've owned my 1973 JDX4 Special since it was new and have had very few issues with it. Last week I was riding and the chain slipped. I opened the chaincase to find the lower 35T gear was bad which I believe was caused by the back tensioner being broke off. I have all the parts to restore it but noticed the new 35T lower gear has a different grind on the inside of the teeth from one side to the other (chamfer). The manual doesn't mention it so I'm not sure it matters which way I install it? Any thoughts out there?
