Arctic Cat used T-1 engines so that starter should work.
Look for a 1975 or older Cat one.

Ok update, I received my second piston this morning part# 09-688, got it all together and in the sled, good compression about 145 in my new cylinder from dustin, and about 140 in my old cylinder, about 25 pulls and she came to life, still needs some work in other places, but its solid enough to enjoy until winter is over, I just want to thank all of you for the help and guidance, this is a very good, helpful, and knowledgeable community that I'm glad to be apart of, so I do know that for my 1980 trailfire 440 the replacement piston is 09-688 hope this helps others. I'm sure I will have many more questions for you guys in the near future, and special thanks to matt for working with me on the whole piston situation, and dustin for the great parts
Thanks,
Matt

Matt nice work! Keep us updated and take her out and ride her put some miles on and report back! Your compression should go up even more after those rings seat a lil bit. My dad just got an 80 TF 440, its got 125/125 which is plenty for now, but good to know down the road what works!

I rebuilt three motors this past summer, all had newly plated cylendars, new pistons and rings. Initial compression checks put all around 130 on both cylendars. I checked them this past week, the trailfire was at 140 and 142, the sportfire was 143 on both, and the liquifire was at 150, and 152. I think the rings are all seated, and it has been great fun riding them. I am planning one more ride for this weekend, and then wash, and wax and mothball them in the shed for the year. I am planning an building two more sled this summer and I hope they turn out as good. The info on the Pistons will help in the near future. Thanks for posting it. Have fun riding. Lincoln

Anyone know if the tie rod ends #08-105 from Dennis Kirk fit my trailfire as listed? If not can you point me in the right direction, also anyone have a good brake lever assembly for the same sled?
