Picked up a few sleds

Post by ihengineer76 »

I bought a collection of sleds a couple weeks ago. Still working on getting them all home. These should keep me busy for a while!

Haha, yeah I can guess which ones you are talking about. I need to go through all of them before any will be back on the snow. None of them are for sale right now. I will probably be letting go of a couple that I already have in the future but I have not decided which ones yet.

Sounds good, let me know in the future. 84's are out of my price range, so anything else would be great! I got my parts yesterday, thanks Lincoln

Nice find, is that a red sport fire with the tunnel cut off in picture 5? I hope if you brought it home you sell it to the guy with the burgundy Trailfire or maybe you could make a package deal with the guy with the red spitfire on Craigslist, lol.

Hadn't you heard about the ultra rare 82 Sportfire compact? They only made a couple of them and the red is a one of one! :bonk: I had gotten that a while ago for a parts sled. It was easier to store on the shelf with a bobbed tail. Tunnel was torn anyway. If that one catches your eye, you should see the limited edition white and gold 83 Liquifire I have. Or was that black and blue....

Thanks all for the the compliments! I will leave names out of the story, but it started with the seller posting the '82 Liquifire on Craigslist. I called him about it, and after getting to talking about sleds, he told me he had quite of few of them. Later in the week, I went over to look at the Liquifire, and he told me he didn't have time to mess with them anymore, but hadn't found anyone who wanted the whole collection. I asked what his figure was, and then we proceeded to look at the rest of the collection. There was also a truck and 4 place enclosed trailer load of parts with the sleds. I tell you I was like a kid in a candy store! We made the deal, and now I am in process of getting all of them to the home farm. The seller is a really great guy and had spent a lot of time finding all of these sleds. I now have years of restoration projects ahead! More pictures to come when I unload the trailer full sitting in my driveway.
