Wife can't grasp turning?
I asked my wife if she remembers going 2-up riding back in '78?
She told me that she remembers praying alot!
 That is when I had to leave the house, or punch something
Paul, we will figure this X8 out!

Pressure test is done, it held 8 psi for ever. No leaks what-so-ever. Had to tape the gauge fittings, bastard leaked right off the bat. Now on to the carb. 10:30am here. Still going. When I get the carb apart I will post the pic of it disassembled. Give me a few minutes.!!

Hmmmmm? Well, do you think I have found a problem?
As stated, the engine pressure test to 8 psi was good, it would hold pressure all day long. No leaks at all.
As for the carb, well. What do you think? I took it all apart and cleaned everything, the screws in the idle circuit plate are a problem, I cannot get them out. Neverless, the carb was stripped to bare bones, air pressure in the shop was cranked up to about 180psi and we let the air rip on this mess. It came out rather well. Installed and on the sled and she runs great so far, only problem now is that I am at work, looking at the sled and dieing to get her off the trailer and test it. I think I have found the problem guys. This carb was bought off ebay, it stated on the sale that it was ready to install and go. SURE IT WAS!! Needless to say, its as clean for now as its gonna get till I can give her an acid bath. She idles well and once to the point of clutch hook up, she runs very strong, so far.
Some of the ports on this carb looked so bad, it looked as if ants made a nest in this thing due to the rust and dirt being so bad, the gas had to flow little trails. Incredible!!
God I hope I have it!!
Sorry for the pics, I was using the shops camera and I am not used to it.

Paul: Sure hope you have found the problem; however, your saga has become as addictive to read as some women are addicted to soap opera's!!!! See you on X8 at HOF.

Looks like it had some moisture in there at some point.
Hope that was the problem, the carb sure needed to be cleaned at any rate.
I'd put new diaphrams in it ASAP, as they must be deteriorated as well, even if they haven't failed yet.
Hope the test run is encouraging!
Don't get carried away, watch those plugs until you are sure the carb is rich enough!

I have the diaphrams from the rebuild of the WDA-34, they can be removed from it and tried I guess.
Mainly the carb WRA-31, in the pics, was mostly rust and dirt. Everything was just stuck and plugged up, the fuel pump and gasket assemblies came apart smooth, not one single tear or scuff of the material. The jet needle would hardly even pivot on the shaft, that return spring was probably cussing me to death... Hey you dummy knock it off.
I just painted the engine heat shields and degreased the plastic clutch belt cover too. After work, I am planning on tightening up the track yet and putting the engine covers on it too. Noticed that the headlight fitting at the light itself is a little corroded. Time to get out the di-electric grease on it too.
Calling for 5 inches of the white stuff here so far.
