The altitude where I live and ride my sleds (mostly) is, in the village about 300 meters (985 ft) and the "high" areas around are between 500-552 meters (1640-1810 ft).
When the trail in the village is snow free it's still 3 weeks of riding in the higher areas. So then the sled has to travel on a hanger about 5 km (3 miles) to reach snow.

Your projects and your scenery look great Robert! I've done some sewing myself, once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy. I live at 5555' in MT and most riding goes from 5000' to 8000' and on up to 10000' in some cases depending on where you are. Jetting can be such a pain as in some cases you would need to stop during your ride to re-jet. Mostly we jet for the upper elevations and simply don't run WOT in lower elevations! We ride and ski in the backcountry around Cooke City well into May, only difference is you can drive further up the roads to offload the sleds. So, if anyone has high elevation kits for a 83 Liquifire (TR-800), 79 Spitfire (92C) or a 84 Sprintfire (102C) clutches I would gladly buy them! I recently picked up a kit for my future 81 Liquifire (102C)

The next item to be restored is the rear light :)

The original glass from 1983 only has a small crack near the right screw, but I will put a new glass on.
Image

On the light house the paint still is kind of intact, but it's no longer attached to the metal....

Image

Scraped the paint of with a knife. All of the house is red as a fox :shifty:

Image

Image

Sandblasted the house as much as I could without blowing hole in the metal. Almost all of the rust is gone.

Image

Zinc spray paint

Image

Black brake calipper paint, same as I used on the skid

Image

To get some extra good reflection of the light I paint the area around the light bulb with fake chrome paint.

Painting done and the new glass ready to be attached

Thanks Fairchild :beers; Glad that you like the thread

You live at a high altitude. 5000ft is about the hight we have in the highest sled able areas in the mountains between Sweden and Norway, above treeline.
The highest peak in Sweden is 2097 meters high (6880ft) So we don't have so very high mountains in Sweden.

Would be really fun to go to USA or Canada and ride in real high areas.

Thanks JDT, I hope that the chrome paint will give some extra light

I did a little weight test between different skids that I have...
The scale is in Kilograms, but since you still are slaves under Great Britain's imperial measure system I have wrote in the weight in Pound

Nice info and pic's Robert. Don't worry, most of us Americans know there are 2.2 lbs per kilogram, 2.54 cm per inch, etc :>)

I also found some more parts you might be looking for, including a used carb, etc. Drop me a line if at home if you have an updated parts list for your Sprintfire.

Saw your post on the Swedish vintage web sit. Interesting thread...

Hi Joe.
Perfect that you have found some more parts. The carb and a cylinder head gasket is on the top of my wish list...

Is it the SRV 340 Light thread on Retroskoter.com you have been looking at? Have you created a membership there? You can't see pics there if you don't log in??
The SRV is almost done and then I have a Phazer II to fix before I put all my energy on the Sprint.

Nope, not the cylinder head coolant seal.
What I need is one cylinder head gasket. Because the previous owner who took the engine apart, he did not place the motor parts together so some parts are lost forever.
But thanks to Joe Rainville I have almost all engine parts now

Robert,
I haven't found any yet, but I should be able to scare up at least one head gasket for you. Is your son going to be working over here again? Do you need anything else?

Thanks,
