Put a pice of plastic door trim on the edge of the motor mount plate. Or windshield trim. The door trim is sold at Auto Zone...etc (the mounting plate usually cuts into that hose)

I always grind down the edges of the lower steering bracket (the other cause of cuts in the coolant hose)

Still some engine and fuel delivery work to do but everything is in place. cosmetic is done.

Darn thing kept flooding out the pto side cylinder so something is wrong with that carb and here the rubber o-ring is missing on the main jet. Stupid thing lol

The carb is flooding due to the missing O ring. You can get that at Newbreeds.com

My experience with those in my younger years, was that I had compression leaking past and coming out through the studs. In all honesty the failure was due to the surface of the head and jug not being flat. An OEM gasket leaked also.

In my opinion I think your asking for trouble if you don't lap the heads and jugs on these to make sure their flat.

On the flip side, its hard to tell from the photo if it's coolant. However, mine leave an oily spooge ring under the exhaust when I let them idle.
