What is the manufacture date? Was it made around 9/83? Reason I ask is I have 2 1984 Liquifires both manufactured September of 1983. They are sequential numbered. #159 has the 83 stickers and #160 has the 84 stickers. Would be nice to see a few more of the 84's with the 83 leftover decals. I was told that John Deere was using up old stock items to finish off the last production sleds. My 84 trailfire and the #159 Liquifire were sitting out on farms in North East Arizona.

It is possible that the hood was damaged early on and replaced with an earlier model hood. I believe the tunnel decals were slightly different from 83 to 84

I will have to take a closer look at the tunnel decals. As for damage the whole machine is in near perfect condition. I will be bringing all 4 of our JD sleds to Waconia at the end of January.

I will be posting an official ad in January when i hope to have a few things ready on the sleds. There is a youtube video of them titled (1984 Liquifires John Deere) on our channel "Copper1938". They are all in the garage now. Trailfire is ready to go, #160 is ready, working on #159 next and 83 sportfire last. We are also bringing along an 81 sno runner.

No 84 liquifire came off the line with 83 decals on it. That is a tale that nobody knows how it was started.

Sleshead16. Yes, the sporty and Trailfire were on eBay. They were both a few hundred dollars from my reserve. The long drive for you mid western folks was affecting the price. I should have them cleaned up and post the ad here after Christmas. Like I mentioned they will be at the Waconia show in January.
