dual carb swap cyclone

looking to do a dual carb swap on a 1976 440 cyclone serial number -70000. i have a parts sled that is a 1976 340 liquifire serial is 70000- Can i use the ones off the 340 liquifire? i know they arent the same and id have to do some jetting. i know the stock 440 cyclone carb is a vm34... what are the 340 liquifire carbs? any help would be great

Cyclone/Liquifire all use a VM34 carb. You'd probably have to do some jetting.

The Liquifire swap is common. The 340 carbs use the same carb body. Jet the carbs using the 76 liquifire carb specs as a starting point.

You should start with the 440 jetting.

How are you mounting coils and cdi box? They are mount on a plat that bolts to the single carb intake. Obviously won't work with the dual carb setup. And on the l/c motor they are mounted right to the case

Here is a picture of one of the members here of his conversion. He modified the bottom of the coil mounting plate.

However you chose to mount the ignition system make sure it is bonded (grounded) to the engine case.
This can be done with direct mounting metal to metal or by use of a grounding strap if you chose to remote mount it from the engine.

His name is Eric Anderson aka... 427cobra. I believe he has since sold the Cyclone. He does pop in and out occasionally.
