I have a 75 JDX8 I want to restore. The rear of the tunnel has a significant crack near the grab bar. 6 inches long and an open split. Instead of repairing I thought about getting another tunnel or donor sled. WHich years and models will work?
Thanks!
You could use any JDX6, JDX8, or JDX4 Special tunnel, the regular JDX4 were the only steel ones. You would just need to cut a new hole for the exhaust.
I have had several 00/X's pans and tunnels repaired at the local welding shop.
The guy there is really good with alum repairs and he usually hits me up for less than $20 to make cracks disappear.
Thanks for the input. Sounds like its worth taking it to a shop that welds aluminum. I thought they were all aluminum but I see only the JDX models were.

Not quite - all JDX/00 series were aluminum except the JDX4 and 300. I didn't suggest you get a 00 tunnel because they #1 it's the wrong color #2 then you have to deal with removing the bogie suspension hardware and positioning and drilling the suspension.
