How can this hose collapse Allan?sledhead16 wrote:I only use thick wall 1/4" black fuel hose on the impulse to prevent collapse and fuel starvation and lean running. I'd recommend trying that first, then move to the carb. New carb parts are essential i.e. needle and seat, clean jets, float bowl gasket and all set properly. Genuine mikuni is preferred

The thicker wall clear or colored hose might be ok, but I had some tygon yellow hose that was good hose but very pliable and squishy, it was new, and the 80 LF was closing it shut on the impulse and fuel starving it similar to sucking through a collapsed straw. Replaced it with black hose, immediate difference, this was just my experience.

This phenomenon would be more of an issue on the Liquifire than anywhere else because of the relatively higher demand for fuel, especially when two power jets activate at higher rpm's.sledhead16 wrote:The thicker wall clear or colored hose might be ok, but I had some tygon yellow hose that was good hose but very pliable and squishy, it was new, and the 80 LF was closing it shut on the impulse and fuel starving it similar to sucking through a collapsed straw. So I took the sled to work and cleaned the carb again and checked the pump out compared it to a known good pump
Put a new carb boot on
Replaced the pulse line with a automotive grade hose
And she runs again but I have to take it out for a rip to make sure !

Pleased to say I found why it was dieing right after going WOT so I went for a quick ride than opened the hood and again no fuel in the line so I removed the fuel line from the filter and it was dripping.... So I by passed that and noticed that the fuel wasn't coming out of the tank so I pulled out the fuel line from the gas tank and HELLO NO FUEL LINE. So no wonder it bogged out soon as you go wide open its using the gas in the lines than soon as the gas moves to the back of the tank it gets nothing and I noticed I had like a 1/4 tank of gas in it and nothing was coming out
Now I need a new line and rubber grommet cuz it broke when removing it
It's been a long road but we got her boys

Cool. Always good for a chuckle when it's a simple thing like that. Have fun with that little gem.
