hi, have a 1973 JDX8, aprrox. 2300 miles, after about an hour of trouble free running the plug on the drivers left side fails to fire and the engine boogs down, replace plug and the engine will run fine, This does this frequently after about an hour and its always the same spark plug side of the engine, the right side remains fine. I always use new spark plugs, the gas is correct in mixture, seems like a coil related issue? anyone have similar problems or any advise would be appreciated.
thanks, joe

JDX8 ignition problem
What does the plug look like when you take it out? What color? If it was a coil problem, I don't think it would restart right away, not until everything cooled back down.

Like Matt said a coil prob wouldnt let you fire it right back up with a new plug. How is the compresion seems like you have a weak cylinder and its fouling the plug.
