Sport Windshield, 80-84 Liquifire

Post by 1982LiquFire440 »

I know this is a long long shot.
Looking for a sport windshield, new used or reproduced

I don't know if they are or were ever reproduced. I thought at some time I read that they were, but i can't seem to find that thread now.
If someone can shed some light on this for me that would be awesome. Thank you!

Hi Matt,

I have had a few windshields done this year for the race sleds with good results. Matt and I are looking to work together on 76-78 sleds, and also the 80-84 low Sport windshields. I can't give you a firm date yet, but reproduction ones will be available within a few months or so.

Thanks,
-Joe

I know this is an old post, but any chance you have 2 of these windshields available?

Rainville still has plans to reproduce this windshield in the future. Closest you can get now is Kimpex 06-706 which is 18.5" tall.

Hi Guys,

Took a bit longer to track down a real Liquidator windshield, so the vendor just got the three 76-78 styles last week. They are now finishing up that quote. Once we get the orders in for those, I am sending an original 80's Liquifire Sport (low) height unit next. I expect to have Dator, LF and Cyclone parts in hand later this summer and the 80+ LF sport unit done late summer or early fall. Should be in plenty of time for this winter.

Thanks for the feedback and letting us know these need to be done.

Sounds like the sport height will be a popular one, I will keep everyone posted on the progress.

Hi Joe: I suggest adding a center most mounting tab on the sport windshield, that may fix the characteristic center bow out of the hood groove the windshield sets in. Also the later windshields had the little outward wings at the rear lower corners, they look neat in my opinion. That is my 2 cents worth, take it for what its worth. Looking forward to getting a couple.
