I will offer you $100 only because I have an 82' Snowfire that has the updated hood on it. You Cannot tell when the hood is closed that its not hand laid. The Hand laid Sprintfire hood is the hard hood to come by because its actually cut out for the Sprint engine. My last 82' Hood I bought is mint condition and I paid $50. Then I turned around and gave it to my buddy along with my second 82' Sprintfire because it needed to stay with the sled. I am hoping someone didn't miss inform you of the value of your hood. let me know here is my cell number feel free to call me 814-573-6970 thanks Jdrob :usa:

Spitfire 36. That is fine. That is a good offer of $375. Other than the weight of the hood what difference is there between the outside appearances of the 82' & 83' hoods? Maybe I am missing something? Thanks Jdrob.

These 82 hoods are hard to come by. I paid 500 for an excellent 82 Snowfire hood and windshield about 5 years ago off this web site and was happy to pay it. At the time they were replaced (M203 MANDATORY MALFUNCTION PROGRAM) by the dealers ...... they were supposed to destroy the hoods and old parts. They also replaced and removed over 30 parts. Quit the interesting history on these sleds .......

In my mind $375 is quite the deal! We are talking about the two rarest JD snowmobiles and the absolute rarest two hoods.
I don't even have an 82 Snowfire but in knew the hood would be the hardest part to find when I have one someday! :D
