Cyclone & Liquifire cranksahfts

Post by Liquifire 4/6 »

I am not real familiar with the older Kioritz powered JD sleds but need to find some info on them. Does anyone know if the crankshafts on the Cyclone 440 are interchangeable with the Liquifire 440. And also do the 340 and 440 engines have the same stroke? Thanks

The strokes are the same between the 340 and 440. The liquifires have larger wrist pin bearings and journals. I'd have to do some measuring to see if you can use the LF crank in a Cyclone.

Thanks very much for the information, guys. I am trying to help out a buddy who recently bought a 78 Liquifire 440. Looks like the engine had water in it and his crank is pretty ugly. He took it to a engine rebuilder shop a couple days ago hoping they could install new bearings and rods in it but they told him they can't get rod kits for it. I have a complete Cyclone engine which I would have parted and given him the crank from if I knew it would have worked but I guess it is quite a bit different from what you guys are telling me. My buddy just texted me to tell me he found some fellow in Saskatchewan who has a crank and possibly some other Liquifire pieces and he is driving out there today to see if he can bring home enough stuff to get his engine running again. If it doesn't work out for him, we'll be back on here again inquiring about where to send a Kioritz Liquifire crank to get rebuilt.
