WANTED: 1976 jd 400 tachometer AM53193
looking for tachometer part number am53193 for the older prestolite ignitions. It should be the one that has a fuse on one wire, 10k. I don't care about looks, as long as it's functional. I've been checking ebay a few times a week for about a year now and nothing! Added a speedo last year and now just looking for the tach. Late model 00 series dash M63885 wouldn't hurt either since mine has a nice crack right down the middle. Thanks!
Re: WANTED: 1976 jd 400 tachometer AM53193
Found that an 8 cylinder car tachometer wires up just fine and reads accurately. Still looking for an instrument panel and I would still like the actual deere tach as well if anyone can help steer me in the right direction. Currently using a small 1 1/2 diameter or so sunpro tachometer from auto zone if that helps anyone else in my predicament. I am using a nos kohler prestolite stator and the stock flywheel. I don't know if that makes any difference in the pulse requirements for the tach. But I wouldn't think so. I also have an electric start kit on the sled so not sure if the difference in a 12v dc vs ac is signifigant or not. May be a question for the tech talk section. As for now it is working.
