78 Liquifire 440
I just came across this site and what a godsend. My father left me, and the state (to FL) with a 78 Liquifire 440. Mind you this thing is in perfect condition. I was Waconia over the weekend and the sled was running excellent. Out of no where I lost power and it started to back fire. So much that it blew the exhaust off one side. I knocked the exhaust back on and started it again and the other other side backfired and blew that exhaust off. The gas was brand new. Do I have a coil issue? Carb? I checked the plugs (original Champion N1) and the gap looks to be a little too much. Any ideas where to start would be helpful.

new plugs or just gaping old ones might work but truthfully i believe you cooked the pistons.
