The light bulbs and sockets for the heat- and oil level-warning lamps was gone, so I bought L.E.D-lamps and soldered wiring to them and put them in cable seals.

Fits perfect in to the warning lamps

The hood straps was a bit dirty, so I cleaned them and put a new M6 bolt with a dome nut on.

Dome nuts give it a A-class look ( I.M.O. )

The big hole made in the hood that almost makes it look like a 1982 hood, does not work well in my eyes :snooty:

Just to do something, I made a plate to fit in to the hole.
Image

I will paint it black and glue in to place with high temp silicon
Image

There are no new windshields to buy in Sweden, and I have not found any windshield from another sled model that looks close enough to modify.

So I will make my own windshield.
But the original model is "old man style", not sporty at all. I will try to make a model that's lower and more narrow, almost like a SRX440 windshield but clear.

First making a template
Image

Image

Windshield is made from a very thin plastic (1,5mm) Here I'm testing how it will fit.
You can also see the plate in the hood hole, now painted.
Image

Gorilla tape and a bag with a wind shield mounting kit.
Image

Good tape is super
Image

Mounted and a black trim on the edge to stiffen the shield a bit
Image

From riders position

Not looking too bad I think....

Looks like excellent work for not having access to a proper windshield.

Ha Ha Ha, thank you :beers;

I also made a template for a more original windshield, but that won't be made until I have repaired the hood :D

Thanks :D

I don't like having a sled without a tachometer, so I bought one for a Kawasaki. It should work fine with the engine...

Was a perfect fit into the dash

So now the sled is ready for start. A long time project is almost done

But first I have to weigh the little Sprintfire....

Lifting the sled with a tractor to the room with the scale.
Image

On the scale. The weight of the pallet is deducted
Image

Weight on my Sprintfire is....

158,8 Kilogram

Yeah, and thats with the coolant and oil included :) (and ski skins) So it match the 330lps weight stated in the specifics http://www.jdsleds.com/models/sprintfir ... pec80.html

Thanks for your thumbs up Jason :beers;

Now the sled is started and the engine runs very nice, maybe a bit rich but I'm running premix gas the first tank so that I'll be sure that the oil injection works.
I took the sled for a short spin (1/2 mile) just to feel how it works. I came back with a BIG SMILE

Great work. You are going to love that sled, easy to ride and loads of fun to throw around in any snow condition.
