In the past year of watching ebay, I have seen several John Deere snowmobiles with non-traditional paint jobs. Most are obviously done by someone prefering pink, purple, flames, etc. However, in the last three months, a 79 trailfire and two 1980 sportfires have been listed with black hoods. All three looked to have original decals in place. Are these aftermarket jobs also, did some of the very first of a model sport a different look, or could a custom paint job be ordered from the factory?
