Dang it Rich. With you around, its like falling into a barrel of !i!s and coming out sucking your thumb, you don't miss anything. He must have started from the "ground up" and got more in to it as he went along. The top end is sure mint. I bet he regretted it.

The custom work on installing the Kaw running gear is very nice. I love the radiator bracket, oil tank bracket and the clutch cover, it sure looks like alot of time and effort.

In '78 Deere should have had this guy design the look of the CC. Very, very, nice. Lots of thought and true to the era other than the running gear [which bummed me out - I would have liked to have seen this more of the era represented]

by the way - check out the cherry '78 seat, gas tank gauge, and the TR800. Things never seen.

Hey i noticed in the pic the placement of the snorkel hose. Is it supposed to be up like that on 80s Liquifires or was this just a custom job. BOB

Rich I was shocked to see the green myself considering how clean and custom everything else was. But it is still a very sweet machine great job to the builder.

This pic shows the cut down snowflap.

Still no info on the track, but I am going to call the owner again too...

Hi Guys,

The owner of the this Liquifire called me last night to let me know he read the postings and appriciated the respect shown to this sled.

Unfortuately, I forgot to ask him about the track, so I will have to call him back.

Last Update: 21-Oct-07

The owner, Tim, called me tonight. He told me about all the Deere guys checking the sled at the Jefferson show. He was glad to see how much the Deere guys appriciated it.

AND: he also spoke to the builder of the sled about the track. Its reported to be a Gates Poly replacement track. It was selected because of its size, and installed backward.

I am even sending Tim a care package for this sled consisting of an NOS handlebar pad, sticker for the tank door, and one of Wanie repop snowflaps.

What a sweet sled...

My take on a Gates Poly would be the all rubber bogie track, but they have the drive lugs in a different location than a slide rail track.

So what is this one, it has windows and clips? Did they cut the windows in the track themselves?

Come on Rainville, give it up.

Nearly 10 years after first seeing this sled, I have news that Tim said good bye to the "Ultimate Liquifire" this week. I have it on good work that the new owner is pretty excited to take delivery of this unique custom sled.
