1980 sportfire

Post by Kimbo »

Hello
I am still in search for a good set of cylinder jugs for a 1980 sportfire 440. Any one that could help me out would be great. My fins on mine are gone. Maybe even a motor if the price is right.
Thank you for your time and help in advance

I’ll take a look when I get home tonight. I think I have a good pair of cylinders on the shelf.

Outsides look good how are the insides. They look good but hard to tell. My pistons and rings should work in those heads or do I need new. The sled only has 25 miles on the speedo. Been a while since I worked on any motors. Like 30yrs lol. How much with shipping to Bismarck ND and do you want a credit card or can I mail you a check.

I would definitely use new rings and I recommend new pistons unless the ones you have show no wear. They are cheap and if you have the engine torn that far down, it is the best time to do it. Also be sure to replace crank seals. I’ll PM you tomorrow with the shipping estimate.
Thanks

Tom

The bores look good with no grooves or edges. I’d give them a quick light hone and they’d be good to go.
