I-500 pics from 1976

Hello All,

Got these two photos from my cousin this fall. Her father had taken them of me at the finish line of day 3, January 21, 1976 in TRF Minnesota. Never knew they existed until I got the prints in the mail. Posting them so you can check out the other racers in the background. FYI I had a big smile on my face outside the timing camper, because I had just had the best day of my short racing career. Back of the photo says I was in 39th place at the end of day 3. The next day was to make the snowmobile history books for Deere, Brian, and Hubert.

While I didn't run in 76 everything else looks very familiar. Great job Keith, glad the pictures surfaced!!

Like it Keith (#42). You should post more of the Race such as pictures and how are you got into the race ,your preparation and what position you finished in and how many actually finished the race etc.

That is awesome Keith!! It's also cool that Roger Ebert just happens to be walking into the trailer as you came out! He must not have finished the last day, as he isn't listed for time... He was quite fast up to that point too, looking at the posted times. But old #42 did finish!! good job!

(Just a side note, Roger Ebert did finish in 75' on a Scorpion with a time of 14:34:14.... I find these old stats very interesting to look through. I'm glad that the winnipegtostpaul.com website is there for us to look at).

Wayne Konickson (#114) is in that 2nd photo. He also didn't finish the last day, but was running decent up to that point.

(Konickson also finished in 75' on an Arctic Cat with 14:34:09. That put him 6th, and Roger Ebert was 7th, unless my math is wrong. Very nice showing for both).
