Started working on the sled again. Removed the chain case cover to check over the chain and gears. Everything looked good, except there wasn't any gear oil in the case. Next I pulled the skid and I will start going over that. Just a FYI it is 98% steel and weight 62 lbs.

Made some more progress this week. Skid was cleaned up, painted, lubed and idler wheel bearing replaced.

I also cleaned up the pipes and repainted them. I might wrap them, not sure if I will do that. I like how the cleaned up.

Found a few more problems. Chain case did not have any oil in it when I opened it. Chain has broken links, bottom gear is rough and the top gear is missing a tooth. Glad I hoard parts, found usable gears in one of my three chain cases.

The drives were also bad, cracked and brittle. Using a spare LF shaft and drivers as a replacement. Again, glad I store parts for a rainy day. :beers;

Do the Liquifires and Liquidators have the same pitch drivers and tracks?

I was told the LF drivers could be substituted. I will let the Dator gurus give the pitch info.

Very nice work! Saved another one! It's always nice when a guy can save a piece of racing history like the Liquidators.
