What's up with the hood and that strip of galvanized metal across the front??

Might need a donor hood if that thing turns out to be garbage.

Yes looks like tree or fence post. Both broke. But i have another donor sled. Where do u guys find seat foam?

I've got a place in my town that deals in "surplus hardware", so they carry tons of nuts & bolts, and a bunch of miscellaneous hardware... They carry several variations of foam blocks of different densities. That's where I buy mine. But, you can find a local upholstery shop in your area which should also have foam for this purpose. I usually buy the seat covers meant for the JD sleds (I find them on eBay), and then my upholstery guy cuts and shaves the foam to fit the seat cover. I supply and cut the plywood support board that goes on top of the tunnel so he has something to attach the foam and cover to. Looks like the original board is is still on that sled, so use it as a template to make a new one.

It's interesting, the SN on your sled is about 230 ahead of mine, so they came off the line at Horicon probably within a week or two of each other.
