Trailfire Air Intake Silencer

I have a 1981 Trailfire 340 and recently discovered that I’m missing the “tube” (#5) in the parts diagram:

I believe I have all of the other parts shown, but I can’t find much information online, so I’m hoping someone here can tell me what the tube is made of (aluminum/rubber?) and the dimensions so I can try to find something that will work in it’s place.

The tube is metal but it's been so long I can't recall which flavor of metal. Seems like it's plain old steel but that would get rusty and defeat the clean air mission...

Nope, that’s how it looked when I found it in the sled’s airbox.
