looks like a nice project platform! - I had a similar looking liquifire that i sold a few years back and regret not keeping/restoring it.

Re: 1981 liquifire
I generally think of the second gen liquifires as being capable of 80ish MPH. I believe the theoretical numbers are higher but things like rider weight, snow conditions, ect all work against that.
80 Liquifire (purchased 1996 ~ Running)

80 Liquifire (purchased 2011 ~ Not running - I officially have a problem now)
83 Snowfire (purchased 2014 father/son restoration project)
78 Spitfire ~ sold (should have been shot for this)

Radar trap speed 86 mph. Deere overachieved in speed and handling against sleds with way more hp.

Re: 1981 liquifire
Thanks guys. Have that nostalgia race coming up. Probably wont have ready. But I’ll get dialed in for next year. Lots of invaders, 9500’ and 7500. Some eltigre 6000 also. Gotta be on game.

That one should clean up nice. I have a 81 that is waiting for restoration. I am going to practice on a Trailfire first.
