78 Spitfire Track

First time poster here - so bear with me. I"m in need of a track for my 78 Spitfire, anyone have a line on one for me?

Good afternoon. You can broaden your search a bit. The Sprintfire, Snowfire, 80-82 Spitfire, 79-80 Trailfire and 80 Sportfire tracks will also work on your Spitfire if you find a decent parts machine.

Thanks, I will likely just end up buying a trailfire for a parts sled as those seem to be the most popular.

The 81-84 Trailfires used the same track as the 1980. The 81 Sportfire did also. The Sportfire switched over to the Liquifire suspension and track in 82. This will help with your search a little.

Snowmoer the 81-up cleated Sportfire and Trailfire tracks are actually a little bit wider than the 80-down and DD tracks. They will rub on the insides of the tunnel if you use one.

Thanks, I did not know that. I just looked at the parts book and see that the part numbers are different between the 80 and 81 serial numbers for the sportfire. I will have to go out and measure the extra tracks that I have. I have both an 80 and 82 cleated track to see how much difference there is.

Good to know the 79 Trailfire track is similar - have a 79 parts machine. I will keep it so if I ever pick up a Spitfire I have a spare track
