loose crankshaft nut

Post by stinger440 »

I had the stator replaced on my ccw 400/21 last year by a local sled mechanic. Since I have been messing around with putting a dual carb system on this motor I have only ran it maybe a half mile since. My recoil broke so I took it off and I found the large nut on the end of the crankshaft was loose. My question is would this cause my timing to be all out of whack now? Can I just tighten it up and call it good? What torque should it be tightened to? I have never taken more than the recoil off this side of the motor so I really don't know whats going on in there. Thanks

you should remove the flywheel and make sure it and the keyway arent damaged and then reinstal and tighten
