On a 340 trail, I put a 1.5 c.a. with a 45 pilot and the low end off the line was instant! After a couple runs the plugs looked good as well. After putting it back to stock, the low end was not near as crisp.
The 340 trail is normally quite slow, but with some carb changes, it's not too bad. (I took some specs from a 340 f/c yammie, single carb engine....they made the little 340 deere come alive!)
Specs I find work great for the 340 trail:
280-310 on main (depending on your outside temps)
40-45 pilot
1.5 cut away
Q4 needle carrier
6DH-7 needle (159 size)
It seems that for every size smaller in C.A, I need to go one size larger in pilot.
Are my findings consistent with what other carb tuners have found? Or am I on the road to burndown?
(I'm also testing some powerjet carb settings on my 440 trail. So far, so good. I'll post with results in a week or so)

I'm gonna give this a try GrassCutter --- my 340 needs a little pep talk.
I know this has probably been asked before and is somewhere on site, but where did you find these carb parts? Local shop or did you order a kit of some sort?
