OK so by now you know I am looking for a Deere. The thing is I am not familiar with all the models. This is what I am looking for. Something with a front mount engine, rubber track, nice ride, jackshaft, ANd has a nice stylish look to it. I dont care about the year or model. What do you guys think is the sled for me??? Doc Jim

Hey Guys,
I really liked Aaron Z's remark about using a KK for a planter, LMAO! Yea, I think I will take on ETD with a Jag in a ditch. Yea, that's the ticket...
I think I need to add to that thread too. Man, you take off for a weekend of SnoCross, and the world goes to heck.
Nice job defending our most cherished Deere to the rest of the vintage world.
Later LIQUIDATOR!

I was wondering where the hell you were with a reply. Using a KK for a planter will yield a bumper crop of catnip. Banzai trees in Polaris replace Fuji engines. Flip the tunnels over & put in cans of sterno to heat up Chinese Buffet items.

Hey Guys,
I posted on the VS Bull Sessions thread. Had to write a good post on respecting the men and machines.
Aaron, sorry, I was off line for a few days pretending to be a SnoCross racer near Syracuse. Again, your post killed me!
Funny that after all these years Deere's most famous sled still gets dissed. I guess we must continue to educate the ignorant. <_<

-Joe

Joe, how many times at the shows have we heard from S. Carmen & others Where's the disk? I don't see the 3 point hitch? What weighs more that Dator or a 4255? It's a never ending uphill battle bringing JD's to shows. I think what pisses these guys off the most is #1 DEERE made a ton of spare parts for us to still enjoy most of their models & #2 they look at the DEERE see the superior quality & wish their respective brand had it. Kinda like the guy wearing Nikes & the other dude wearing Shop-Rite sneakers. So Joe is there a REV XP being snow checked for next year? I'm glad DOO put out a new sled, I was seriously thinking of getting a Yamaha.

I suspect most of us who were old enough to ride Deeres when they were new, have been aware of the snide remarks and lack of respect most of our lives.
The "runs like a Deere and smells like a john" retort is still just as friggen funny the millionth time I've heard it as it was back in '72.
I'd kinda forgotten about it until I took the X8 to the Reunion Show in Eagle River last Sept. I figured we had gotten beyond that. However, I picked up on some of the same old BS all these years later.
Yeah, NEENER NEENER, I'm buying NOS parts for my 35 year old sled, and I'm having a ball! 35 years later, I'm in Northern WI drinking a beer with a bunch of guys I never would have met if I wasn't into Deere sleds. All my buddy's Cats, SnoJets, Rupps and Mercs, are LONG GONE.
end of rant
 I'll be OK in a min.

Kenny, worse yet for Scott was the Rupps & Scorp Brut he had. He's a good guy though. Some can't help their misguidence.ICCSF 108 wrote: S. Carmon shouldn't have too much to say afterall he owns a Bull Whip!

Yea, Aaron, Waters Boy, Matt, Tim and Nick have taken a lot of lip over the years. At least now we see a lot more Deere's at the shows.
Aaron, being our mascot, nicknamed Scott Carmen and Scott McCoy "The Twins" and it stuck. If we can't make fun of their sleds, make fun of them instead. LOL! They are actually pretty good guys, but love to bust our chops. It's all in good fun, but we do get razzed a lot.
Aaron don't you have an odd Brut fetish too? I like Rich comment: Friends don't let friend ride Yami's. I will be racing at Cat again next year in spite of meeting "Team Arctic" at the HOF. I am going to put in for the new 600cc Cat SnoCrosser, but not sure if I will get one due to missing 2 weekends of finals with a busted sled or driver. Heck, I don't even own a sled bigger than 440!
Maybe Waters and I will do some more Vintage Oval on Liquifires next winter. Would be good to earn Deere some respect on the ice.
Later,
-Joe
